Something i've always hated ,as far as i remember, since im born is circus...there were some coming in my very little town when i was little girl and i've always found so ridiculously stupid people who appreciated Animals tricks in circus...what is so extraordinary & fantastic with tigers ,lions, elephants etc...kept in small cages ,far from their usual places to live...? NOTHING !!
why do humans think normal to KIDNAPP animals & make money with them...where,when & who said we had all rights an them..Huh?  Angry Angry Angry

about seals hunt...:
-in 2006 98% of the harp seals killed were pups under just three months of age.
-The Canadian Marine Mammal Regulations, which govern the hunt, stipulate sealers may kill seals with wooden clubs, hakapiks (large ice-pick-like clubs) and guns. In the Gulf of St. Lawrence, clubs and hakapiks are the killing implement of choice, and in the Front, guns are more widely used ..
-During the 2006 hunt, the Canadian government allowed fishermen to club and shoot at least 354,344 seals. The last time seals were killed at this rate—in the 1950s and '60s—the harp seal population was reduced by nearly two thirds.
-There are no penalties when fishermen exceed Gvt's quota,in 2004, sealers killed close to 16,000 seals more than the permitted quota. Again, the Minister of Fisheries and Oceans extended the sealing season until well into June.

no need to write further and all...no need to wait June to get a cat in a shelter...(see New Family Member topic Grin )
anyway...with summer coming...if you can ,don't hesitate to save a life and get an animal in a shelter.... rock rock

saw a report yesterday evening about the ALF :AnimalLiberationFront in the USA & in England ...their actions seem pretty violent....the FBI consider they're terrorist organisation which i could understand seen their violent actions but i also can understand why they're sometimes pushing so far...
in France a similar movement also exists ...and in a way that's a good thing...we have already some pro-animals organisations & associations (SPA,Fondation Bardot,Fondation 30miilions d'amis...) but it's never enough...it's soemtimes so much pain & suffering that you have to go further & mark spirits...
we live in a world where animals are objects ,that's unacceptable...we buy animals in shops as we would buy furniture or clothes...we kill animals for their fur while we don't need fur at all to get warm...we eat animals just like if they would be food on legs...if you see once an animal suffering ,if you have a heart ,you just can't stand it anymore... i do sign petitions & try to be coherent with my beliefs & ideals in my everyday life... that won't give me a place in Heaven (If there's an Heaven) but i can face myself in a mirror without thinking im responsible of some creatures' death....

in France ...campaign agaisnt abandon of animals...'Societé Protectrice des Animaux' & 'Fondation 30Millions d'Amis'

just above it says (approx): 'Dear friends, our new campaign illustrates the infinite fidelity of animals & denounces the difference between the sensibilty of the one who's abandonned & the insensibility of the one who abandonnes. We hope we will make think some people about respect that implies the link established with their animals-companion.we will never repeat it enough :to abandon an animal is a coward ,scandalous & barbarian act that NOTHING ,absolutly NOTHING justifies.'
i couldn't ever abandonn one of my cats ..i already have the feeling i have abandonned my BabyLoveRoméo... Cry Cry Cry

THIS WILL TAKE A MINUTE OF YOUR TIME AND WILL SAVE A CREATURE – AND HOPEFULLY REMOVE THIS SO-CALLED 'ARTIST'!!!

Hi all,

this is a very serious matter...

In the 2007, the 'artist' Guillermo Vargas Habacuc, took a dog from the street, he tied him to a rope in an art gallery, starving him to death.

Does it look like art to you? I think not... just some-ones morbid fascination with death of poor animals..!

But this is not all ... the prestigious Visual Arts Biennial of the Central American decided that the 'installation' was is actually art,.... so that Guillermo Vargas Habacuc has been invited to repeat his cruel action for the biennial of 2008.

WE NEED TO STOP HIM for good and NOW..!

For several days, the 'artist' and the visitors of the exhibition have watched emotionless the shameful 'masterpiece' based on the dog's agony, until eventually he died.
