Hopefully this movie gets a chance and will not end up on DVD like so many independent movies....
Hopefully this movie will be a good movie.

Interview with Dagmara Dominczyk: Nathaniel: You have another movie coming up, James Franco's The Stare. Dagmara: [Pause] Oh yeah. The Stare. Right. Totes forgot thanks for reminding me! [Laughs] They shot the movie in 15 days, an experimental weird movie. My two scenes in that -- long scenes -- are both with Winona Ryder, just me and her. She was awesome. We had a lot of fun and then I went home to my kids. [Big Smile] http://thefilmexperience....ra-on-a-hot-tin-roof.html

Review Summary
A celebrated playwright and director prepares her latest production and hires a newcomer sight unseen, disrupting the dynamics of her cast. Paranoia slowly sets in and she cannot decide if she is being plotted against or going insane

Jeff Petriello first fell in love with a tiny swath of Chinatown that he and other residents call "Chumbo" while filming a night scene with actress Winona Ryder along chaotic Canal Street in the shadow of the Manhattan Bridge.
"It just felt remote and genuine and beautiful," said Mr. Petriello, 25 years old, who decided to move to an apartment on East Broadway and Canal after being a production assistant on that film, "The Stare." I have a feeling the look and feel of this film will be amazing! I've seen some of Jay's films and they are always visually stunning! I just hope the storyline and performances match up to that! http://online.wsj.com/art...04577070490365094740.html

That's how it feels to me too. Can't wait for the trailer....
I found a copy of Jay Anania's film "Her Name Is Carla" and it was strange and intriguing. Great cinematography.

10. The Stare (TBA) The problem is that there really is not a lot known about this film, other than the fact that it could be Jay Anania’s breakthrough as an up and coming director. It could also be the eventual return to the top of the acting world that Winona Ryder has been seeking since she ruined her career years ago for her shoplifting stunt. She’s been in many movies since, sure, but how many movies out of that group had her as a lead/important role? How many were actually good? Some were fantastic (Black Swan, A Scanner Darkly, etc) but her roles weren’t big enough to toss her back into the spotlight (however she did do a good job in these roles, as small as they are, which does help). That’s the thing. Acting wise, she’s not finished just yet. Her work in the TV movie When Love is Not Enough: The Lois Wilson Story was well praised, and it was the first time we saw her as the main character in a while. Could this film make her a wanted commodity with the movie industry like she once was? She’s just hit 40, so it has to. James Franco is not always a consistent actor when it comes to being good or bad, but one thing’s for sure; He always tries his hardest. Director Anania was actually Franco’s acting teacher, so that should help boost his confidence and performance (just look what Boyle managed to do with Franco in 127 Hours). What is this film about? It’s not really well known. All that’s been released is that the film is a psychological thriller about a struggling playwright. Black Swan meets Synecoche, New York? Could be interesting, so it’s on my radar for now. http://whocaresreviews.wo...to-my-crystal-ball-i-see/

Interview with actor Marin Ireland: SY: Do you have any upcoming projects coming up that you can discuss? MI Yeah, I did a film, I think it’s going to be called now ‘The Letter,’ with James Franco and Winona Ryder that I know Lionsgate has acquired, so that might come out sometime soon http://www.shockya.com/ne...and-talks-the-understudy/
