Hello Everyone. I didn't know where to post this so i decided to make a new topic here, where we can post All the latest news about Ms. Ryder Litquake 2010: Winona Ryder, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Patti SmithThe lineup for this year's Litquake, San Francisco's tribute to the written word, looks like a smashing one. Why? Because it vboasts a special appearance by a very special cinematic legend and infamous felons. Of course, we're talking about Winona Ryder. The actress and sometimes San Francisco resident will appear as part of a tribute to Lawrence Ferlinghetti and City Lights Bookseller. Sure, other stellar names will also help out (guitarist Lenny Kaye, Michael McClure, New Yorker cartoonist Eric Drooker, Ishmael Reed, former San Francisco Poet Luareates Jack Hirschman and devorah major, the rad Beth Lisick, Michelle Tea, and the Marcus Shelby Quart), but we are saving our pennies and holding our breath for Ryder. This year’s list of authors is "a mix that is as both as broad and eclectic as anything Litquake has ever presented: and includes: http://sfist.com/2010/08/24/litquake_2010.php

Today's Pop Five: undeadhead's tribute to Winona RyderThe Pop Five is a series of Pop Candy readers' top five lists. Today's contribution comes from Kristy L. (undeadhead) in Pittsburgh: Molly Ringwald is the queen of '80s-era teen comedies, but I've always identified more with Winona Ryder. In high school, I was an outsider like Dinky Bosetti (Welcome Home, Roxy Carmichael) and had the same religion-induced neuroses as Charlotte Flax (Mermaids). I also possessed a Rina-esque sensitivity that attracted guys in a let's-just-be-friends sort of way (Lucas). For the record, I did not pull a Myra and marry my piano-playin' cousin (Great Balls of Fire). From her 1986 debut through the mid-1990s, Winona's film canon reflected my adolescence. Then, a strange thing happened: Winona stopped making movies that mattered to me. For the first time in more than a decade, I didn't have a cinematic soulmate. I'm still searching. How to Make an American Quilt & Girl, Interrupted. How can you not relate, even if it's just slightly? I know not all women go through what Finn went through with her fiancé and stuff, but there are so many other ways to easily relate to her-- working hard on a thesis (or even just a college paper/assignment, in general, and then losing it all), spending time at one's grandmother's house and listening to her crazy stories, struggles coming to terms with parents' past and current relationship, etc. I hope this writer still enjoys watching Winona's movies at least :)

Their Best Role: Winona Ryderby Alison Nastasi Aug 23rd 2010 // 12:02PM It's hard to believe that Winona Ryder is 38-years-old. It seems like just a short time ago that she was playing a high school girl in Heathers or Edward Scissorhands. From there, Ryder's career seemed to take off -- she landed memorable parts as Mina Harker in Francis Ford Coppola's lush but narratively flawed Dracula, won a Golden Globe for another costume drama in The Age of Innocence, and got a Best Actress nod for her work in Little Women. Ryder's resume is filled with memorable roles, but unfortunately it was overshadowed at least to some degree by her arrest in 2001 for shoplifting over $5,000 worth of items from a Beverly Hills Saks Fifth Avenue. After that public humiliation, the actress essentially disappeared for four years. We're hearing more from her now, though -- with roles in several upcoming films including Ron Howard's comedy The Dilemma and Darren Aronofsky's highly anticipated thriller Black Swan. With that in mind, it seemed like a perfect time to take a look back at Ryder's body of work and choose her best role to date. @kashyy These pics are as "dangerous" as the worlds funniest joke from Monty Python.... I always think of a sci-fi crowd-control way: Police trucks with huge display screens that are bullet- and shatterproof and then showing stunning pictures of Winona...
