Here is one picture nobody will be able to take again. This is the World Trade Center, as it looked in the early 90s. It is taken from the cold, windy plaza that used to be at the base of the towers.  It was my best picture of the trip.

There was a really good view from the top. This view is taken from the top of the Empire State, looking south towards the twin towers of the World Trade Center. I looked, but couldn't find any from the top of the WTC.

Great shots! Sad

What really makes me angry looking at those photos, other than the events 9/11 of course, is the fact that next will be 10 years since that day and there is still nothing it its place. How pathetic... I know there has been issues with the design, but come one... 10 years!! I was just there this past December and all that was there was the begining of a building… just angers me. I always loved going up to the top of those buildings.

I used to take the PATH subway beneath the plaza. At the end of the escalators from the subway level (just below the plaza) you where greeted with a Godiva chocolates store and a HSBC bank. I always found that juxtapose to be interesting.

@Chris ...  It's amazing it has taken so long. I think it took 4 years to build the Transcontinental railroad, and maybe 5 years for the internet to change everything. It seems to be difficult to decide what to build.

@Nonious ...  Godiva chocolates are expensive, so maybe they wanted to make it easy for you to raid your bank account to buy a box.  Wink
