I'm kinda bored, the hosts suck so far, flat jokes, I wish Neil Patrick Harris would have hosted the oscars...
just a quick question, since when do they say "and the winner is.... " and not "and the oscar goes to ... "

Good question. I almost didn't notice that.

I would watch it, but I get very poor reception on that channel. Still, it seems like I am not missing too much.
@WW...I agree with you about Avatar, the visual effects were groundbreaking, but they could have written a better script. I wouldn't say that it was disappointing, because in 3D it did do things that I hadn't seen done on screen before. However, it seems such a shame that they didn't bother to spend a few pennies on a decent story.

I'm glad Avatar didn't win best Picture. It was a technically groundbreaking film, but it was badly flawed in important areas. Great films have to tell a good story. I saw the Hurt Locker last week and it was a really entertaining fim. However I also saw Inglorious Basterds and I felt that that was better, more original and more surprising. Still, the Hurt Locker is a worthy winner and should appeal to anybody who likes action films, which is a really big audience. It is amazing that it has only taken $15 million. I'm also pleased to see Sandra Bullock winning an award, but I wonder if it was more for her popularity than her performance? I haven't seen her film and I will try to seek it out over the next few weeks. Anyway, I'm sure Meryl Streep doesn't have space for another award, and would just end up tossing it in the bottom of her closet.

I hoped that this show will be enjoyful with steve martin and a. baldwin. but it was really boring. jokes weren't good at all..
well I'm sleepless now and I can't think anything about any category. But in my opinion there was no good acceptence speech by winners. specially the woman who got best costume designer made me laugh (: I also feel same thing in Kristen Stewart's presentation (;
but it was good to see rachel and michelle..

Haven't seen it just watched the roundup on the morning show. The Hurt Locker is a good movie to win this year and Avatar got most of the technical awards except for Best Makeup which went to Star Trek ("It's the ears...").
Also like that Sandra Bullock won, maybe her performance wasn't SO over the top but she did many well-grossing films in her career, so.... I think Winona got her ShoWest Award in 1997 for the same reason.

I liked the show. I always loved Sandra, but I don't think she deserved Oscar, also Monique didn't deserve it. I'm glad Avatar didn't win best picture.

I liked Steve and Alec - i think they did a good job. Other than that, I couldn't care less about it. Oh and Carey Mulligan was super cute.

Well I'm still shocking she is older than James Cameron and 11 years older than James cameron's wife Suzy Amis!! Look at that!
