This year for me was a quite a good year for our beloved Winona.
1. I finally saw Winona on the big screen again. Even if only for seconds in Star Trek - but nevertheless her first movie since Mr. Deeds that made in germany onto the big screen. And her take on Amanda Grayson was adorable - and so also said most other Trek fans.
2. Pippa Lee gave us some of Winona's best acting since GI as the messed-up Sandra. The movie got mostly good reviews in the UK and France while US reviews were a more mixed bag.
Movies comming up 2010:
1. The second Stay Cool trailer looks and feels really good - I hope it'll get a chance and will not only be shown in a handful of cinemas. I'm a little afraid of that as distribution takes much time again - on the other hand MTV placed Stay Cool on place 5 of their "2010 movies not to miss" list.
2. When Love Is Not Enough - Hopefully a piece were Winona could really score: a period drama. IMO this is the make or break movie for Winona for the upcomming years. If this movie is really good I think leads in major theatrical dramas are not far away, but I don't wanna think about if this movie is bad...
Next to that I hope this will be released on DVD quite soon after it aired in April so Winona fans worldwide can enjoy it.
3. Black Swan looks quite likely to be a small role like Pippa Lee again. But Nataslie Portman is also a great actress and Winona has most of her scenes with her. This is surely bound for a limited release.
