Apparently the film has wrapped on February 11th and is now in the Post-Production stage. Also, there are rumors swirling online that it may premiere at this year’s Cannes Film Festival!

Side competition, the Americans should meet there.The gifted Darren Aronofsky, already honored at the Venice Film Festival with The Wrestler, is currently scrambling to finish his Black Swan for Cannes.

Oscars 2011 Forecast: The Ones to Watch

Forecasted contenders

Darren Aronofsky (Best Director): I’ve read the script to this one and this film is classic Darren.

Natalie Portman (Best Actress): This will be one of two films released in 2010 for her, the other is the medieval stoner comedy “Your Highness”.  Her last nomination was in 2005 for Closer but I think her versatility will be in her favor come nomination time, granted she knocks this performance out the park.

Winona Ryder & Mila Kunis (Supporting Actress): Their scenes are scattered about in the film but they are very memorable.

Darren Aronofsky & Mark Heyman (Best Original Screenplay) You read the synopsis and I’ve read the script, it’s pretty darn original.

'Robin Hood' will open the new edition of the Film Festival of Cannes Brought up to date in:

From the 12 and even May 23 will be carried out the 63ª edition of the prestigious Film Festival of Cannes.  The event, that develops since 1946 in this city of the French coast, is characterized for recognizing each year maybe of the seventh world art, being its more important prize the "Palm of Gold". 

This year the French actress Juliette Binoche is the image of the official placard (in the photo), which was premiered Monday 29 of March.  The official list of movies that will compete for the "Palm of Gold" will be known the next one 15 of April in a press conference that will be carry out in Paris.  The president of the jury will be the director Tim Burton, known by tapes as "Beetlejuice", "Edward Scissorhands" "Batman Returns" and by the at present box-office one "Alicia in the wonderland". 

On the other hand, already there are some confirmed tapes for to be premiered in the festival: 
- "Wall Street:  Money Never Sleeps" :  It starred in by Michael Douglas and Shia LaBeouf is the consequence of the successful tape of 1987, now directed by Oliver Stone.  - "You Hill Meet to Tall Dark Stranger" :  Romantic tape starred in by Antonio Flags, Naomi Watts and Josh Brolin and directed by Woody Allen.  - "Tree of Life" :  Tape set in the years 50' directed by Terrence Malick and starred in by Brad Pitt and they Be Penn.  - "Black Swan" :  An it film of suspense directed by Darren Aronofsky whose distribution includes Natalie Portman and Winona Ryder.  - "Rum Diary" :  Of the director Bruce Robinson is a movie based on the novel of the same name and starred in by Johnny Depp. 

The movie that will open Cannes 2010 will be the remake of "Robin Hood" starred in by Russel Crowe and Try Blanchett and that has on the chair of director to Ridley Scott.  Here we leave you the official trailer.

I really hope she will be out to promote this film, starting by attending the Cannes Premiere, world Premiere and do interviews, talk shows, etc.

Honestly I don't care much if it goes to a film festival.

In the last years so many of Winona's movies went to Sundance and what came of it? Nothing. Last year Stay Cool went to Tribecca and what came of it? Nothing.

I for one would be happy if Black Swan gets a nice Hollywood or New York world premiere and then goes to the screens worldwide with a solid number of copies. I'm kind of tired of those movies - not only Winona's - going to some remote film festival and then ending up on direct-to-DVD.

Yeah, but Cannes is much more of a prestigious festival then Sundance or Tribeca. Cannes is like the festival of all festivals! It would've been so great to see Winona attend... oh well, you're right, I guess really it doesn’t matter. Though, there is still Venice or what ever comes after Cannes. But like you, I just want the film to get to as many theaters as possible… But of course, above all- I just hope Winona shines in her role! I’m really, really hoping this film will lead to better films for her! Looking forward to see what comes after "Black Swan."

Winona Ryder Is One Of Ron Howard's Cheaters

Everyone loves a good comeback story and Hollywood has been setting the stage for another one in the last few years as Winona Ryder slowly made her way from tabloids headlines into one of the biggest releases of 2009 - J.J. Abrams Star Trek. She next worked with Darren Aronofsky on his new thriller Black Swan, due in theaters December 1st. Today, she continues her career resuscitation as Deadline Hollywood reports that she'll co-star in Ron Howard's new comedy Cheaters (formerly titled 'Your Cheating Heart').

Allan Loeb (21, upcoming Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps) penned the script about a guy who discovers that the wife of his best friend and business partner is getting intimate with another man. Vince Vaughn and Kevin James will top line the Universal Pictures release, which has no release date as of now.

We've always enjoyed Ryder's work - from Beetlejuice to Bram Stoker's Dracula to Mr. Deeds - so we're pleased to see her back on the screen again, working with the kind of top tier talent she deserves to be amongst.

It is now official: 

With the Cannes Film Festival schedule slated for a Thursday release, this is certainly not the best news we could receive. The Playlist has just reported three films that will definitely not be making appearances: Clint Eastwood’s HEREAFTER, Darren Aronofsky’s BLACK SWAN and Gus Van Sant’s new film (once called RESTLESS, now nameless).

Disappointed? Me too. As it always seems to be, the question now remains, why? Well, both Eastwood and Aronofsky were still shooting as of February, making it highly unlikely that the film has passed through post-production. I wouldn’t have a problem with this explanation if the practice of accepting not yet finished cuts into festivals was not such a common practice. As for Van Sant, the script was reported as being very different from what we can usually expect from him, so it’s possible the director felt that the film was not right for Cannes. Toronto anyone?
