Exclusive : Another Swan Cast Rising starlet Kristina Anapau (“Cursed”, “Self Medicated”) has joined the cast of Darren Aronofsky’s “Black Swan”. Currently lensing in New York City, the psychological thriller centers on a talented ballerina (Natalie Portman) in the New York City Ballet who is tormented by a rival (Mila Kunis) who might or might not be a figment of the dancer's imagination. Anapau, who also recently joined the cast of werewolf thriller “First Howl”, plays Russian dancer Galina, a soloist in the ballet company who’s fiercely competing with Portman’s character, Nina, for the lead role in Swan Lake. The pic, also starring Winona Ryder, Barbara Hershey and Vincent Cassel, is due for release in 2010. http://www.moviehole.net/...clusive-another-swan-cast

I'm thrilled about this! I've liked Daren Aronofsky ever since Pi, his wonderful film about mathematics and obsession. He also did the powerful Requiem for a Dream, and the under-rated 'The Fountain'. I haven't seen 'The Wrestler', but that helped to raise Micky Rouke's career from the dead, and was talked about for an Oscar. I can't help noticing that Aronofski has worked with with Jennifer Connelly, Rachel Weisz, Natalie Portman and Winona Ryder. Those are the smartest and most beautiful women in Hollywood! Lucky guy!

The more I read about this I think Winona will only join for a week or two most likely in january. What I could gather the role might have only a little more screentime than Sandra in Pippa Lee - would be surprised if it's over 20 minutes.

Any idea where they would be shooting? Is there a ballet hall or Opera house or something like that in Manhattan?
I hope you do get to see her Chris. You do a great job keeping us up to date with all her projects.

On the IMDB board for Black Swan they've a script revision dating march and in that Winona has 8 scenes of which 4 run longer than two pages.... Or circa 20 pages of about 130 pages...so if you simply calculate a running time of 100 mins Winona should have about 15 mins screentime... Most of them in the first third of the script.
