London Film Festival 2010: 5 films to look out for
The full line-up for the BFI London Film Festival 2010 has been announced, with a tantalising collection of films in place. We pick out 5 hot tickets which you should know about, including new films from Natalie Portman and Carey Mulligan.

http://www.metro.co.uk/fi...0-5-films-to-look-out-for

Black Swan
Black Swan, the latest film by director Darren Aronofsky, isn't set to be released in cinemas until February 2011, but fans are already anticipating a classic.
A strong cast is led by Natalie Portman and Winona Ryder, with stars such as Mila Kunis and Vincent Cassel also involved.
Portman plays a ballerina in New York City in this drama, which may not sound the most entertaining prospect, but as Footloose once conveyed, the art of dance can work as a strong allegorical tool.
Though it may seem like a females-only film, don't be surprised if your boyfriend insists you go watch it - Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis share a steamy kiss in the flick, after all.

For now it seems to me that Winona Ryder has the best shot at a nomination from Black Swan’s supporting lady-trio. Although Hershey and Kunis got some good ink, Ryder received some actual raves, not to mention who doesn’t love a high-caliber comeback story.

Portman is in nearly every frame but the rest of the cast is up to her level, particularly an unhinged Winona Ryder as the recently deposed veteran ballerina, and Hershey, who is practically a villain herself as the mother who lives life entirely through her infantilized daughter.

Portman, showing the benefits of years of dance training and a ten month training period becomes a leading Oscar contender here, but is matched every step of the way by the lively Kunis, a commanding and intense Cassel and a domineering and self-possessed Hershey. Ryder is in briefly but effectively as the booted ballet diva.

Venice film festival

For more Info's here's the link http://www.morningstaronl...s/content/view/full/95106

It started with a glam opening-night red carpet for Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan which saw Natalie Portman, Winona Ryder and Vincent Cassel making an appearance.

Then the Venice film festival started in earnest. Its vast programme encompasses over 300 titles and a rich line-up of world premieres, including Barney's Version from Canadian director Richard J Lewis.

I'm really looking forward to seeing this film. Having just read the screenplay (though how close it came to the final scenes shot I have no idea) Winona's part seems to be quite meaty, although it appears there's more action than dialogue in the whole piece, and Noni isn't in the dance scenes. I shall be VERY disappointed if any of her scenes have been cut *sniffle* but then, we'll get to see them in the 'deleted scenes' section of the DVD!! WOO!!  Cheers

Hey everybody. I don't post much on here, but I was able to attend the Black Swan screening last night and thought you'd want to see the video I shot. The film was awesome and Winona was great, but I can confirm yet again that her screen time is probably no more than 7 minutes. She looked gorgeous in person last night, so here's a link to the video I shot of the film and cast introductions by Darren Aronofsky. She appears at about (4:30)

She looks beautiful,of course.
Maybe it's the dress or the angle but she looks a little bit pregnant. Compare these photos to those from the Chicago Film Festival.
Maybe she finally ate a cheeseburger.
Either way,she looks great.

Yeah, she looks more curvy than usual, but maybe it's the dress - which I hate btw, but it's a girl thing, lmao - but she looks beautiful. I love the fact she's a little Casper  near Natalie. Spreading the Lydia love...  Cheesy
Oh and I love her hair like that. So glad to see her out again!  love
