I'm watching my sister's cat (Anakin) for 2 to 3 weeks.  I've had a dog before but this is the 1st time I've had to care for a cat.  Are there any useful tips from our Cat Caretaking Nonians?  Like for example: how do I keep him from eating my plants?  And the hair, my God it gets everywhere!

As you can see below he has already decided to occupy my bed laugh Doh!

Wish I could help you there, NTN, but I'm more of a dog guy.

Maybe corky's the one to ask.  happy yes

Seems to me cats live in their own little worlds. With there own little schedules -  a fly on the window sill can provide hours of fun I understand. And just try to call a cat! Just see what happens! They'll turn their noses away from ya and go in the opposite direction.
Not dogs. No siree - dogs are the best.
When your sister gets back, present her with a little cocker spaniel pup.
Tell her you traded out.  laugh

for plants....or you buy herb for cats (flowers shops) or you put them all up... i have that problem with my demons so i have done both....some plants are toxic for plants ...so be careful....
for the hair ...you could comb him....but he's a long hair cat ... like Siberians,Persans etc....
to be sure he will do what he has to do 'in privacy' ( Wink ) nowhere else but where he has to ,put few drops of bleach in litter ....
out of that ,i don't think you could have any problem....he will probably try to hunt flies & butterflies....
make sure he has fresh food & fresh water in bolws (change water everyday)...cats hate dirty stuffs& old food....
good luck & have great fun .....  Grin
