I really liked Fearless a lot. That would have been a good one for her, even though Rosie Perez was fine in it.

New York Fall 2010 Fashion Week starts today - but as Marc Jacobs has no show and airports are nearly closed down due to a blizzard I think Winona won't show up....

Wish that would've happened! [Jay] Cocks had worked with [Kathryn] Bigelow on an unproduced Joan of Arc epic titled Company of Angels that had Winona Ryder attached to play the martyred warrior. http://thisdistractedglob.../2010/02/21/strange-days/

I recently talked to the hollywood correspondent in know from work and somehow we ended up on talking about Alien 4 and later on she sent me some unconfirmed information about it and about Alien 5: - the original script featured a more intense personal relationship between Call and Ripley but was reduced due to concerns at Fox - Alien 5 would've been written again by Joss Whedon -- Of course, not all Aliens died in the crash of the Auriga -- Call and Ripley would've taken up the fight together with Vriess, Johner and earth forces -- Earth forces would never trust Call and Ripley -- In the first Alien the Nostromo finds the Aliens among the crashed remains of an spaceship of an unknown spacefaring species - we would finally see that species IMO it's very sad Fox decided to go the cheap way and ruin Alien with their very mediocre Alien VS Predator movies. And if Joss Whedon would've made the script again it would've sure been a great movie - with Firefly he made such a great show. I think Alien 4 was the second best Alien. But if you like to read on: Here are some quite okay fan fictions of Alien 5.

WM3 Case: Stevie Branch's Father Upset with Johnny Depp Steve Branch breaks his silence He's upset with recent publicity in the West Memphis Three Case Branch remains convinced the right people are behind bars
(West Memphis, AR) -- Steve Branch says he's not one to chase down cameras. "I didn't want to come out here and do this," he told us during an interview Friday. "I didn't see any other choice."
Branch has remained relatively quiet since the end of the trials for the West Memphis Three: Damien Echols, Jessie Misskelley and Jason Baldwin.
He felt compelled to speak out now because of recent publicity in the case. "I'm here for the three eight-year-old boys that were tortured and murdered, one of which was my son, Little Steve," he said.
Branch was convinced after the trials, and remains convinced today, that the right people are behind bars for the murders of Stevie Branch, Christopher Byers and Michael Moore.
Part of his message Friday was meant specifically for the West Memphis Three. "Instead of begging them to let you out, you should be begging them to let you stay in there, because you don't want to come back out here," Branch said.
Branch was upset when he saw parts of a recent interview Johnny Depp did for an upcoming episode of 48 Hours Mystery . "To Johnny Depp, Winona Ryder and the rest of you celebrities trying to get in the spotlight by standing on my son's shoulders, stop it. You should be ashamed of yourselves," Branch said.
Branch is also disappointed with family members of the victims who are now supporting the West Memphis Three. "I say to the parents who are supporting their sons' killers, to quote another son to his parent, 'Why has thou forsaken me?'" Funny thing is Branch's wife believes in their innocence.

I'm not fluent in that case... Has there been ever done an DNA test? Modern forensics is your friend... And well: If there's no DNA samples collected the police were idiots and no direct witnesses it goes: In favor of the accused....I think its written down like that in some book....

I don't ever want to be that father, there is no pill and there is no therapy. He is going to take his loss to bed with him every night. He owns it, all respect.
I sympathize
But society outweighs the individual and justice is decided by the many, not the one. Johhny Depp isn't going to decide this case and niether is Mr. Branch.
There are legitimate questions.
Why not ask them?
Perhaps Reuben Carter should ask them?

Tim Burton- Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter (Yes, This is Happening)
The mist rolls in obscuring the log cabin where Abe’s mother is preparing dinner. Little does she know that she is in fact on the menu. A shadow falls across the cabin door. She turns. There is no time to scream.
Alright, I just made that up. But if you like that you can buy “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” the newest novelty novel from Seth Grahame-Smith. I have coined the new phrase novelty novel to describe a novel that has a gimmick that drives it such as taking a classic book or historical figure and adding something unexpected.
Author Grahame-Smith previously turned Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice” into “Pride Prejudice and Zombies” soon to be a major motion picture or at least a motion picture. No real clue how major it will be. Natalie Portman is signed on to “Pride Prejudice and Zombies” with Lionsgate producing.
Old Abe was up for grabs so Tim Burton snapped up the Lincoln versus Vampires tale. He’ll be adapting it with the help of Timur Bekmambetov.Without a doubt Burton is the man to take this on. He’s got the crazy, quirky vision to pull it off. And come on, who doesn’t want to see Johnny Depp as Old Abe? It’s true that Depp is a bit shorter than Lincoln, but that could be the other historical revelation! That Lincoln wore lifts in his shoes. That he was hardly taller than Mary Todd. Who knew?
Or will Burton go the animation route? Will he animate Lincoln? I hope not. I want to see Depp in the role. And hey he could reunite him with Winona Ryder as Mary Todd. Oh the possibilities!
But let’s face it. It’s time history was made accessible and relevant. Think how this will improve education. No child will be left behind because they’ll ace their history tests. When asked who Abraham Lincoln was they will shout in unison: “Vampire Hunter!”
Alright then. With Grahame-Smith making a career out of his novelty novels I’m wondering what’s up next? http://www.filmschoolreje...yes-this-is-happening.php

Could you just imagine...? Hacking IMDB: A Sneak Peek at Tim Burton’s Forthcoming Wizard of Oz
You’ve seen his Roald Dahl. You’ve seen his Lewis Carroll. Now see his L. Frank Baum!
Next year, Tim Burton will release The Wizard of Oz: Dorothy’s Relapse. Though the film’s still in preproduction, Arts Desk has obtained a rough version of its IMDB page.
The Wizard of Oz: Dorothy’s Relapse Director: Tim Burton Writers: Tim Burton; Henry Selick Release Date: April 1, 2011 Genre: Action | Adventure | Fantasy Tagline: “You’d better just forget about Kansas altogether.” Plot: [Spoiler alert!]
The year is 2013. Dorothy (Winona Ryder), now a spinster, hopes to avoid an arranged marriage with the son of Kansas’ principal cattle magnate. Fleeing the family farm accompanied only by Toto (Andy Serkis), a three-legged mutt long in the tooth and short on hair, she stumbles upon a soothsayer (Christopher Walken), who, after endeavoring in vain to loosen her petticoat, reads her Tarot cards and tells her there is “travel and death” in her future. Dorothy agrees, but notes also that this prediction could apply to anyone. Furious, the soothsayer clubs Dorothy on the head with a pickled opossum. Upon waking, Dorothy finds herself in an alternate reality, which she remembers as ‘Oz’ but which, apparently, is known as ‘Faux Poz’ to the natives, a stunted race of depraved gamblers. After winning a pair of ruby-encrusted Manolo Blahniks in a life-sized game of roulette, Dorothy sets off in search of the Emerald City. The kindly Scarecrow (Johnny Depp), drooling only occasionally, helps navigate Dorothy through a maze of deceit, wordplay, and moral allegory. While traveling the Yellow Brick Road, now fallen into disrepair courtesy of winged, simian vandals, the two of them encounter the Lion (Ben Kingsley), whose species is now endangered and who consoles himself by playing flip-cup with the Tin Man (Hank Azaria). After a heavily opiated montage in a field full of poppies, the wanderers happen upon the Emerald City, wherein a wizard who looks suspiciously like the soothsayer maintains a stable of talking horses with thick Welsh accents. Before Dorothy can press them for their equine wisdom, the Wicked Witch of the West (Helena Bonham Carter) swoops in on a pennyfarthing, absconding with the Blahniks and swearing revenge on her sister, the White Witch of the North (Dame Judi Dench). In a final showdown under pulsing, ominous skies, the Scarecrow catches fire but is saved by the Lion’s tears, while the warring sisters settle their score in a Danny Elfman-gone-electro-pop dance-off. Weighing her options, Dorothy decides to remain in Faux Poz, spurning the cattle magnate and shacking up with the Scarecrow, with whom, presumably, she will produce unusual children.
Cast:
Winona Ryder … Dorothy Gale Christopher Walken … Soothsayer/Wizard of Faux Poz Johnny Depp … The Scarecrow Ben Kingsley… The Lion Hank Azaria … The Tin Man Dame Judi Dench … Glinda Helena Bonham Carter …The wicked Witch Andy Serkis … Toto Steve Buscemi … Cattle Magnate Deep Roy … Head of Lollipop Syndicate Stephen Fry … Horse Willem Defoe … Tree Pete Postlethwaite … Wingèd Ape http://www.washingtoncity...forthcoming-wizard-of-oz/

Pop Culture’s Sexiest Robots of All (or Any) Time
In the Alien universe, androids look and behave like humans except for two big differences: 1) androids have exceptional intelligence, reflexes, strength and other abilities that far surpass their human makers and 2) they're filled with vanilla pudding and pasta. And, if you're very lucky, they look like a heyday-era Winona Ryder. msn.comAnd as Call is a second generation andriod - designed by andriods - computers have an excellent taste in the Alien universe...

Seven actors who deserve better. Winona Ryder Once, Winona Ryder made a tacit deal with the American public to be the go-to alterna-chick, embodying all layers of the high-school strata from pissed-off goth ("Beetlejuice") to perky cheerleader queen ("Edward Scissorhands"), with stops at "Heathers" and "Mermaids." She also tried to sum up Gen X's ambivalence in "Reality Bites" and auditioned with Salinger monologues; she was alienated slacker America. Eventually she drifted from weak, personality-suppressing parts ("Mr. Deeds") to non-entity indies ("The Darwin Awards"). Despite a strong turn in "A Scanner Darkly," her cameo as Spock's mom in "Star Trek" was mostly disorienting. That Darren Aronofsky promises to do (with the upcoming "Black Swan") for her what he did for Mickey Rourke's career speaks volumes about how fast she fell, and how unjustifiably.
