As this is just a rumor, I'm posting it here: Ben Foster is in talks to star in the upcoming sci-fi thriller ‘Prometheus’, who joins the cast of the movie directed by Ridley Scott. Ben who has worked in ‘Mechanic’ and ‘The Messenger’, will now join the cast of the movie with Michael Fassbender, Idris Elba, Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Sean Harris and Logan Marshall-Greene. It is also believed that, Ian Holm, Lance Henriksen, Winona Ryder also joined the cast of the movie ‘Prometheus’.
’Prometheus’ is turning into one of the most exciting and anticipating movies in production is expected to reach the theaters on June 1, 2012 in 3D. The synopsis of the story has been revealed recently. It tells about a team of scientists and explorers, who are set on a thrilling expedition, which tests them physically and mentally, which also strand them on a different and distant world. There they will discover the answers of most fundamental questions and the ultimate mystery of life. http://www.greatnewmovies...set-for-prometheus/Source

This started out as an Alien movie - and seeing Lance Hendriksen and Ian Holm makes me think they would be there to reprise their rolls as synthetic life forms (which would be weird since Ian Holm looks a lot older than he did in 1979 of course). But since this doesn't seem to be an Alien movie any longer, I doubt they will be in the movie, but I could be wrong.

WINONA RYDER When I got the role of May in The Age of Innocence, Marty left a message on my answering machine. He said, "I'm so excited that you said yes to the movie." I ripped that tape out and put it in a beautiful glass case. He would show us films in the screening room in his brownstone, and I don't know if he realized it, but he was basically narrating the entire film. We'd be like, "I wonder why he's showing us this film?" but it would be for one shot or one scene—and it was like a four-hour epic! When we were shooting and he couldn't get to me, he would send notes like "Remember to give Daniel [Day-Lewis] a kiss on the cheek at the end of the scene." They would be in envelopes with my name on them. I have a whole album of little letters. And I remember Marty's parents; they were in so many movies, and The Age of Innocence was the last film they were both in. A lot of people thought my character was the bad guy, but I remember Marty's mom came up to me and said, "You handled it like a real lady! I would have clocked him—but good!" http://www.harpersbazaar.com/magazine/feature-articles/best-martin-scorsese-film-scenes-1111

Christina Ricci on Winona:
"She is still in touch with Winona Ryder, her co-star on Mermaids. “I know her and like her; I have affection for her. She’s an icon.” She’s a cautionary tale, isn’t she? Ricci gives me the first of several unblinking death stares.'Not at all.' "

Tuesday, 31 January 2012Twitter News Round-up: Cher Discusses Fun Co-Stars, Winona Ryder, and Snaps At A Rude Gaga Fan Cher spent some of last night tweeting her fans. As is usually the case when Cher has a Twitter session, there is lots to talk about.
Firstly, one Cher fan (and faithful friend of 'Cher News', @eng911) asked the Academy Award-winning actress, "Who was a fun person to work with?" Cher revealed a chosen few; she listed Meryl Streep from their time on 'Silkwood'; Stanley Tucci from 'Burlesque'; Kurt Russell, who she affectionately called "Kurty", also from 'Silkwood'; and "My darling little girls" Christina Ricci and "Noni" (A common nickname for Winona Ryder), who both played Cher's daughters in 'Mermaids'. With little space to type any other names, Cher concluded that there are, "so many more!"
In complete contrast, Cher had to defend herself in her next tweet, against a Lady Gaga fan about 'The Greatest Thing'. The fan of the 'Poker Face' singer tweeted about Cher, saying, "I hate it when Cher ignores us when it comes to 'The Greatest Thing', I think it was a publicity stunt." Cher saw the tweet and replied, "F--k!! I did my vocal, It's not up to me! Think What u Want." The Lady Gaga fan then tweeted to their followers, saying "[Oh my f--king God]! Cher replied... I think I p--sed her off!" The Gaga fan, who had just rudely claimed that Cher had invented 'The Greatest Thing' for publicity, then stated, "I find it overwhelmingly annoying how she made something out of nothing. I was just stating an opinion, she can be so rude." Oh yeah, sure, Cher is the rude one! Less than fifteen minutes later, the fan concluded, "I want you to know Cher I didn't mean that in a bad way, I was just curious, I'm sorry." Don't these Lady Gaga fans realise that badgering Cher about the song isn't going to solve anything? All it does is give other Gaga fans a bad reputation.
Lastly, continuing from the first tweet mentioned, one Twitter user asked Cher, "Will Winona 'Noni' Ryder ever regain her career? [It was] One of biggest fall from grace Ever", referring to Winona's 2001 infamous shoplifting arrest. Cher, who has had over forty-five years experience in show business, and has witnessed almost everything that the 'business' oversees, replied, "Heroin seems to be cooler than shoplifting." Winona's career has seemingly bounced back in recent years (or is on the way to it) and I think I speak on behalf of most Cher fans when I say that I'm glad; we've all seen how talented she is.

Jason Segel: I was hot for Winona The 32-year-old funnyman had a soft spot for the stunning brunette when he was younger. Jason constantly watched the 1988 movie Beetlejuice to satisfy his appreciation for both Winona and the director Tim Burton. “I had a crazy crush on Winona Ryder, from Beetlejuice,” he explained. “I’m a huge Tim Burton fan, too.” Jason isn’t the only famous face to confess his celebrity crush. I believe your time would be better spent reading the bumps on the head of the person in front of you. The book looks like a waste of money. Send me fifteen bucks and I'll send you a well used copy of "Winesburg, Ohio". You'll save some money and be much more entertained.
Have a good flight.
Where are you going?
" Only the few know the sweetness of the twisted apple." Dr. Reefy from "Winesburg, Ohio."
I wish my doctor was named Dr. Reefy.

I guess you're right Eagle-rare. I should'nt always get carried away just because Winona's name is plastered on a book. I know people out there try to make money off of celebrities. As to where I'm going---- I am headed back to the small town where I grew up in the Philippines for my High School Reunion. It just so happens also that during that week is the Town Fiesta, so I guess I'm not gonna have a dull moment while I'm there. Then if I have time and money to spare, I'm gonna try to swing by the world-famous beach resort Boracay which is only a 3-hour drive from my town. "Winesburg, Ohio" sounds good. If I'm lucky, maybe I'll find a copy at the nearest Half Price Books(I hope it's not a rare find). If not, I guess I'll just re-read Ray Bradbury's "October Country" and maybe I'll find a copy of "The Autumn People". Ooh, and I recently found a copy of "The Ballad of The Sad Cafe", which I've been saving to read for when I took a trip. But I will let you know, if you're serious about it---I mean, about you sending me a copy of "Winesburg, Ohio". Are you a book dealer or something? BORACAY

"I am headed back to the small town where I grew up in the Philippines for my High School Reunion."
Sounds like fun and Boracay looks wonderful. Enjoy your trip.
"Are you a book dealer or something?"
Or something. I earn my keep with my hands.
But I do enjoy keeping company with those who seem determined to throw their money away, in hopes that I might catch a bundle. It's an old habit, one, some may say, that is not a particularly endearing attribute. "Winesburg,Ohio" happened to catch my eye when I glanced upon the bookshelf. It could just as well have been AAA's Tour Book of Illinois,Indiana and Ohio, or Krishnamurti's "The First and Last Freedom".
Anyways, enjoy your adventure, whether you are reading lumps or an overpriced list of Winona's credits.
