On the german PBS station ARD they showed House Of Spirits in HD last evening. As I have no HD equipment and as it was dubbed I only switched over shortly and even on SD over DVB-S the picture was way better than the DVD - to date I only know the netherlands DVD - which I own - to be 16:9 while the german and uk versions are stupid 4:3. I hope for a HD release soon. And if also Reality Bites, Girl Interrupted or Autumn In New York (which DVD quality is a shame) come out in HD I will at least buy a HD laptop. Plus downloading the full version of Fraps fpr the screencaps.... I also hope for the director's cut of GI which is said to be over 3 hours long - but this is mentioned in german TV mags for nearly 10 years now...

One of my monthly stops is usedmagazines.com and today they had an issue of the Architectural Digest 05/1994 in stock. I ordered it and make scans as soon as I get it....

^^^ Thank you for that introduction to www.usedmagazines.com, I have boxes of New Yorker magazines from 1987-1990 that are still in the shipping plastic. I also have a great collection of Ramparts magazine from the early 1970's. I have wondered if there was a market for these items.

I read about that a while ago, the original idea sounded very weird (beetlejuice as a surfer or something like that)
In a way i am glad they never made a second film as it could ruin the first

That's interesting. I was unaware that making a second movie effects the first movie. I wonder if, in the process of making the 2nd move, the first movie is somehow damaged, or even edited.

In context a sequel can ruin the original For example right now the story from beetlejuice can pan out however we feel like it does, but if you throw a sequel into the mix that beetlejuice is some kind of surfer that would ruin his character In my opinion and we all know what opinions are like

I am wary of a sequel to any movie I enjoyed. Not because they take away from the original, rather, they usually make the original look better. That's the problem, sequels tend to suck. I don't care that Rocky and Rambo turned into ridiculous cartoon characters, The original "Rocky" and "First Blood" were great. I don't care if Michael Corleone turned into an annoying neurotic, Godfather 1 and 2 kicked ass. They always will kick ass. Make 4 more, give Michael Corleone horns and let him torture dead mobsters in Hell, 1 and 2 will still kick ass.

I saw that now! in Total Film's 150 Greatest Performances All Time List Winona at 113 with Veronica Sawyer. I surprised actually. http://www.totalfilm.com/...veronica-sawyer-1#content“There’s a new sheriff in town” and it’s a girl. She’s a fast-talking teen, a neo-noir femme fatale, a rebel with a cause, an angel in a blue dress and, according to The Washington Post, “Hollywood’s most impressive ingénue.”
Just 16 when Heathers was shot, this is the role that defined Ryder as the embodiment of female outsider cool.
Smart, funny, independent – even the ’80s couldn’t stop her from looking great. Co-star Christian Slater admitted last year that he’s still in love with Ryder, having fallen hard on the set of Heathers. Us too. Winona Forever, indeed.
Greatest Moment: Walking charred and bleeding from the blown-up school, a cigarette hanging from her lips.
Also See: Lydia Deetz (Beetle Juice).

I don't know.
You in San Fransisco with Ferlinghetti, Waits and Ryder at the same time?
I shudder.
Life wasn't arranged in such a way to allow one person such happiness.
I am afraid your head might explode. Or you'll devolop a rash. Or Turrets and blurt out something about wanting to smell her.
If I were to assemble a group of artists who I would like to listen to and interact with, they would be on the top of my list. I agree, I would love to be there.

^^^ Yeah, it would be too much! I would be so overwhelmed... I'm mean who would I go to first?!?! Imagine if I could get a photo with all three of them! Now THAT would surely make my head explode, for sure! But you're right, somthing that geat could never happen to one person. After all, I am on the other side of the country, anyway...

".... I'm on the other side of the country."
When I was young and single and I needed to be on the west coast, I would take a bus. Syracuse to L.A., roundtrip, 110.00.
You standing in the midldle of that bunch, now there's a photgraph I'd like to see.
