While browsing for latest german Star Trek books I found that the Alien Ressurection Graphic Novel was also released in germany as part of the Aliens collection of the Cross-Cult publisher: amazon.de

I searched on amazon.co.uk but found no english version.

I'll post some scans as soon as I have it....

25 MOST UNDERRATED/OVERLOOKED SUPPORTING ACTRESSES (2000-2009)

Winona Ryder
A Scanner Darkly
(Richard Linklater, 2006)

Winona Ryder was becoming one of the best actresses of her generation during the late 80s and early 90s. Sadly, a personal event in her life was a nuclear bomb that blew any her career faster than you can say “BOOM!” Ryder, however, has still managed to give some good to great performances this decade. And none of them were better than her complicated and fractured portrayal of a cocaine-addicted loner in “A Scanner Darkly”. In Richard Linklater’s rotoscoped animated film, the actors are still given fresh room to act (their performances are still on screen, albeit drawn-over to make them appear cartoonish) so I feel it is acceptable to add this performance. Not only because Ryder is exceptionally expressive with her eyes here (just as she almost always is) but because she is also just wonderfully persuasive and commanding with her soft, raspy voice. Where her character goes throughout Linklater’s film is best left for you to see for yourself, but Ryder really pulls through to give a wonderful performance that proves she still has what it takes. Now if only others would see that.

No, you're not that weird! Cheesy I do think that it was a little rough at times. For me though, it was mostly enjoyable to watch, then not. The only reason I found it unwatchable was because of Keanu. Roll Eyes I thought Winona was just good in her role, but not wonderful as this article suggests. Maybe I should go watch it again... Haven't seen it since it was in theaters back in 2006.

Davis talks Beetlejuice 2
by Clint Morris (Thursday, April 15th, 2010 at 11:53 pm )
Out stumping her new film "Accidents Happen" in Sydney (where the Andrew Lancaster-directed comedy was shot), screen vet Geena Davis mentioned she'd be interested in hearing more about the oft-rumoured "Beetlejuice" sequel.

Davis, who played one-half of the recently-departed Maitland outfit (Alec Baldwin playing her hubby), says she'd be definitely keen to tap into her, er, 'spiritual' side again.

"It's funny, [another journalist] just asked me about a sequel to Beetlejuice - which, though I haven't heard anything about it, might be interesting", Davis told me yesterday. "I would do that!".

"Thing is, do ghosts age?", asks Davis. "Wouldn't we be stuck in the age we were? Alec [Baldwin] and I would have to look as we did then - who knows, maybe we could? I better get in touch with Tim Burton".

A script titled "Beetlejuice goes Hawaiian", written by Jonathan Gems, was doing the rounds in the early '90s. It saw the Deetz family moving to Hawaii, where Charles (Jeffrey Jones) is developing a resort. Soon enough the twice-unlucky clan discover they're building on top of an old ancient Hawaiian Kahuna's burial ground. At that stage, Warner Bros had only approached Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder about reprising their roles from the original film.

The project never happened, but star Michael Keaton was as recently as 2005 suggesting he'd be keen to play 'The Ghost with the Most' again.

"At one point, I had the conversation with Tim, saying "I love this movie so much; I think there's one more in there somewhere", Keaton told JoBlo in a 2005 interview. "And we both talked about it, and I think there was a script written once years ago that wasn't quite it. I would consider that, yeah, a lot. I would seriously consider that."

A year later, Warner Premiere announced - via an international media release - that "Beetlejuice" was one of the many titles they were considering 'sequelizing' for home-video. That hasn't come to fruition - yet. And hopefully, it won't.It'd be a waste to go that route.

Look, there's surely potential out there for a big-screen follow-up to one of Tim Burton's biggest and best flicks? right!? Keaton's onboard, Davis is onboard, I'm sure Baldwin would do it... and if Burton won't direct, then maybe he'll produce? This could work Robinov - sleep on it.

Meantime, Davis tells What's Playing that we shouldn't hold our breath for the previously-announced ''Long Kiss Goodnight 2''.

''Sam Jackson and I really wanted to do a sequel'', Davis says, but suggests the box-office for the first film wasn't big enough to warrant a follow-up.

FINALLY, after more than 5 years, "Alpha Numeric" has been deleted from Winona's imdb filmography! Now I wonder how long it will take to get "Cheaters"/ "Your Cheating Heart" added to the list? Grin

Janeane Garofalo has an opinion on...well, everything

I was also fired from "Reality Bites" and Winona Ryder stepped in. If the producers of a mainstream romantic comedy don't like what you're doing, you're probably on the right track. The suits at the studios are the least creative people in a supposedly creative business. It's frustrating. They thought I was too unattractive. They don't really want an ugly person. You have to be a very pretty girl like Charlize Theron, gain weight, make yourself ugly and then win an Oscar. But they would never cast someone who looked like Aileen Wuornos. You go through makeup and get your Oscar.

I can't really proove it: Today a german PBS station aired the 30th Anniv. Concert by Michael Jackson at the Madison Square Garden in 2001 and I'm quite sure in two split-second audience-shots you can see Winona.... Undecided

Who was Winona's real life friend between the two Heathers actors, Lisanne Falk or Kim Walker?  I always thought it was Kim Walker (Heather Chandler), but just today I learned (via IMDB) the she died of a brain tumor in 2001!  Not sure why but it shocked me a bit.  Eerie when you consider that it was Kim's Heather who uttered the line, "Did you eat a brain tumor for breakfast?"  Sad

Just returned from Chicago. Took a look for Winona,no luck.

Took a look at Potbelly's Sandwich Shop to see if she was enjoying a salami and roast beef Wreck.
Nope.
Took a look at Mr. Greek's to see if she was enjoying a gyro.
Nada.
Took a look at Rosa's Lounge to see if she was enjoying Guy King.
Uh-uh.
Took a look at the bleachers in Wrigley Field to see if  she was enjoying a cold beer and the Cubbies losing to the Marlins.
Not a chance.

But I did.

The Gold Coast?!!

They don't allow the likes of me around there.

I hope she is enjoying Chicago, the 28th greatest city in the world.
