In review the year was mixed. On the positive side Winona has finished four movies
and attended serveral events, especially in the later part of 2008. On the negative
side is the fact that Last Word now is collecting dust for a year and the press still
jumps for any negative news about Winona with eagerness.

Following up my predictions for her upcomming movies stating the release probability
for wide-release/limited-release/direct-to-DVD:

last word - 0/10/90
star trek - 100/0/0
informers - 25/50/25
pippa lee - 10/40/50
stay cool - 0/25/75

Lets see how many movies will get to the big screen - the more the better... Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed

How many in the general public gave a damn though? She's a fab actress, obviously, but to get back to her early 90s level of fame and success she's gonna have to work a bit harder and wiser. Movies that ended up, for all intents and purposes, as direct to dvd are not going to do that.

I think it's not about she's not working hard - I think she simply can't get hold of better roles....and next to that I think a good part of the press simply ignores her.... Sad Sad Sad

It will still get harder next and maybe following years: Due to the financial crisis it will be much harder to get financing for new movies - predictions are -50% idependent movies and -33% studio movies will be produced in 2009 - the competition for roles will thighten....
