Just re-cracked open my copy of "Poetry as Insurgent Art" - the first line: "I'm signaling you through the flames" -- such a loaded line: good to know that you're not alone when you just wake up and the world's on fire. Such bold one-liners: "Write beyond time," "Your poems must be more than want ads for broken hearts," and "give a voice to the tongueless street" -- such a bright light, such wisdom, and a comfort/challenge to fellow poets.


Yep, some great stuff there... Though, I know that he makes me want to be a better writer!
"Through art, create the order out of the chaos of living."
"Read between the lives and write between the lines."
"Make common words uncommon."
"You can never see or hear or feel too much. If you can stand it."
