Stay Cool (Dir: Michael Polish)
Henry McCarthy (Mark Polish), a successful writer, prepares to deliver the commencement speech at his high school alma mater. Upon arriving in town, Henry encounters various characters, portrayed by actors who graced the screen during the ’80s: Winona Ryder as the unattainable high-school crush; Sean Astin as a flamboyant gay best-friend; Chevy Chase as the high school principal; Jon Cryer as Henry’s literary agent and Henry’s parents, Dee Wallace (E.T.) and Michael Gross (Family Ties). No, Stay Cool is not a National Lampoon’s 1980s Reunion movie (there’s an idea). Set in a John Hughes world twenty years later, it’s instead a nostalgic, sentimental journey that lacks the emotional integrity of The Breakfast Club or even Pretty in Pink. Winona Ryder so wholly embodied the spirit of adolescence during her star years, reaching a peak that summed up a generation in Reality Bites. Her sincere performance in Stay Cool allows her to reflect on the roles that defined her. She still possesses the ravishing adolescent charm that made her a star to begin with. Ryder’s demotion from a leading lady to Spock’s mother in Star Trek is a shame. http://www.brooklynrail.o...009-tribeca-film-festival

Last I heard it was supposed to come out around Christmas. However, I've emailed the Polish brothers to ask them and now I'm just waiting for a reply.

Stay Cool in the cinemas A fan for Winona Ryder it has asked the Polish siblings when Stay Cool in the cinemas exits and they have answered, “Not is still nothing of specific. However, it is being discussed for settebre/October”. I hope just that or true… also because the film, during the Tribeca Film Festival 2009, has received of favorable book reviews news from: http://hilaryone.blogspot...stay-cool-nei-cinema.html

ACI brings Polish Brothers' Stay Cool to AFM 22 October, 2009 | By Jeremy Kay LA-based American Cinema International has added the Polish Brothers’ high school film Stay Cool starring Winona Ryder and Hilary Duff to its AFM roster.
Mark Polish, Chevy Chase, Sean Astin, Josh Holloway and Jon Cryer also star in the tale of a successful author who falls for his high school sweetheart when he returns to give the commencement address.
Michael Polish directed the Initiate Productions film from Mark Polish’ screenplay. Both brothers produced.
“Stay Coolis a sharply written and directed film, eliciting great performances from an amazing cast,” ACI president Chevonne O’Shaughnessy said. “The chemistry amongst the ensemble cast really brings the story to life and delivers both funny and dramatic takes on a peculiar set of circumstances.”
“We’ve been on the lookout for a great, original comedy with mass commercial appeal and Stay Coolis a slam dunk in this category,” CEO George Shamieh said. “The film has the irreverent freshness that audiences are drawn to and truly appreciate.”
Cindy Bond brought the film to ACI and runs the faith and family production label Mission Pictures with O’Shaughnessy. http://www.screendaily.co...ol-to-afm/5007250.article

Maybe I'm a little slow during nightshift: But what does the article add to knowledge? Do they have now distribution? Or are they now starting to look for it at "AFM"? My personal guess is it will take a while till some lucky US audience will see it in a VERY limited release - and I hope again for the DVD....frustrating....extemely frustrating... faith and family production label Mission Pictures ...and that sounds creepy.... P.S.: Thanx for the trailer

"and that sounds creepy"
At first glance, I agreed with you. The words , "faith and family",is often a red flag for, "Don't look in my closet." But after looking into the work of Cindy Bond and Mission Pictures, um, not so creepy. I guess. I don't know. Seems like a good match.
