My Back Swan review - some Spoilers:

"I'm not perfect ... I'M NOTHING!"

Black Swan is a great tour de force for a wonderful ensemble of actors. Natalie Portman doing the role of her
lifetime - the best I've ever seen from her. Winona, only having a handful of scenes, delivering perfectly.
But also Mila Kunis, Barbera Hershey and Vincent Cassel are on top of their art - you would love to give
everyone an award - but sadly there aren't enough to give out. Hoping for the Best Acting Ensemble at the
SAG Awards.

A little more on Winona - some spoilers: Winona, like in GI, really lets go in two of her scenes - as she's
smashing up her dressing-room and as she stabs herself in the hospital - Darren Arronowsky knows how to
bring this great performance out of Winona, not many directors do.

Natalie and Winona were not only great - they were shokingly great with mesmerizing and at times frightening
performances.

And like in some movies before they've big trouble making Winona look ugly: In the hospital they made her
look really banged up - and a guy sitting next to me in the cinema whispered to his girlfirend "She still
looks hot as hell!".

Next to beeing a great movie this also opens up a new world to viewers. I've never been to the ballet nor cared
much about it. This movie really opened a window into this fascinating world - while also showing how destructive
it is to the dancers.

Oscar nominees are announced. Nothing for even Kunis and Hershey.

and for Nolan. I don't like the nominees this year. Good for Black Swan and Bardem and John Hawkes. But The Social Network?!??
I know it's wrong place to discuss but I still can't believe that Fincher will finally win but with his second worst movie! Sorry guys I can't see that you did saw in this film.

For me The Social Network would fit into the Documentary / Docu-Fiction category but not into beeing a dramatized fiction. And on second: I quite dislike all thios Web 2.0 and Cloud stuff.... Tongue

it's ok  - is there an Oscar thread? I was just wondering out loud about what Patrick would think. He's a big Fincher fan.

I am also a Fincher fan. Fincher even expected this, it was obvious in his speech in golden globe. He made se7en, fight club, the game and benjamin button. social network may be better than panic room. When actors/directors get some acclamation "with not their best performances" it annoys me anyway.

I have seen the film a few months ago when I was out with a friend. We had plenty of time and nothing to do, so Black Swan was just an abrupt choice.

So, movie get started, I was a little bit bored, then suddenly Winona popped up on the scene and I felt sooo happy Smiley But, I was ashamed a bit as well, because I could not keep up with her since a long time.
