Awww, that must have been so embarrassing to have the alarm go off! :( :( :( :( I don't think she'd pull something like this again. The article didn't mention what kind of make-up was found in the bag or how much of it was in there, so it could have been make-up that was near the check-out counter that somehow fell in there or something. Or the cashier may have missed a few make-up products while he was ringing her up and then tossed them into the bag by accident, especially if she was purchasing a decent amount of items. At least she gave back whatever wasn't paid for. She might have been too embarrassed to go back to the register and pay for them after the alarm went off if they were items that she had actually intended to buy. I have no idea if this is a reliable article or not, but I'll try to find another one around that says something. I hope Winona is okay!

Thief: (Noun) A person who steals another person's property, esp. by stealth and without using force or violence.
The media is trying to drag Winona Ryder's good name through the mud by once again accusing her of stealing; this time from a Hollywood CVS.
A store employee is quoted as saying: "Winona had a bag of stuff, but she set off the theft alarm when she left the store. "When a security guard stopped her, he found make-up she had not paid for."
And when she was asked about the make-up, Winona answered: "I don't know how that happened." The store employee added: "We took unpaid items back and she left the store." (Source)
OK fine. So maybe she took some @#$%. But still, I'd hardly call that stealing. As far as I'm concerned, appropriating make-up from chain drug stores is every red-blooded woman's right as an American. I know when I was 14, Lip Smackers didn't pay for themselves. So what, I guess I'm a "criminal" now too? http://www.webstersismybitch.com/2008/03/thief.phpThat's exactly what I think they're trying to do- how pathetic!!!

about two weeks ago they had this video-bit at the german station RTL - the one over in the pictures thread. as I work for a media company I checked some turstworthy news-agencies like ap, afp or dpa but none had anything on these - so I think this is mostly made up of someones sick fantasy... As sad as it is, I think we'll have to life with this kind of "accusations" for eternity....

A store employee is quoted as saying: "Winona had a bag of stuff, but she set off the theft alarm when she left the store. This "bag of stuff" was it the bag of items she had already paid for? The cashier could have forgotten to ring those un paid items up. I really hope its that or the article is bull@#$%. Oy vey

It's SO frustrating how society enjoys bringing people with fame down. I looked this up on Google yesterday and saw it being discussed on gossipy types of sites. God forbid they had something better to do with their time. Exactly why I don't read that trash.

I don't think there's any way to know if the story is true or not because obviously no charges were filed.

......Hi. I wonder how many people are interested in that some other (not too much ideal ) people says about Winona. I'd like to consider that myself everything relating her, at least I think that she is much better than I am for sure. In any case, good evening to everyone here from Russia.

Reports like this don't upset me. ----- But if there is ever one that has Winona being arrested for shoplifting and the charges stick, then I'm upset because she will go to jail. ----- The words of the judge still ring in my ears as he said to Winona ----- "If you steal again, you will go to jail, do you understand." ----- Rusty
