i understand your frustration...

many countries in the world have been ,a day or another ,invaded or annexed...it's scandalous that in 2008 some countries are still in this kind of situation...

about Tibet..one reason Chinese often give to justify they stay there is that before they annexed Tibet ,they were living in MiddleAge way of life....they built roads, ways for trains etc...but only in chinese interests...partly economical interests(90%)...
is it similar for Turkestan ?i read people in Occidental(West?) part were Turkophones (speaking Turkish) & in Oriental(East?) part people were mainly Uyghurs....75% in 1949 and only 43% in 2003...if it is not an invasion what was it...?
tell us more about it...maybe in a new topic...or not a new one ,as you want...
kisses to you..

Starting with historical backgorund could be interesting. Cheesy 2000-2500 years ago Turks used to live in that area (Middle Asia region, which belongs today China, Mogholistan, etc).  But in consequence of some factors (like drought, etc) they had to move west. Some decided to go North and formed Huns (ancestors of Hungary, Finland and Bulgaria); some decided to go direct West and formed Seljuks, Ottomans and finally today's Turkey, Azerbaijan and Cyprus; some decided to stay in that region and formed today's Turkmenistan, Kazhakistan, Uzbekistan, Kirghizistan. These are independend ones. East Turkestan is the one of the many autonom regions.

Today -as far as I know- they are not allowed to have more than 2 children, jails in the area is totally under awful circumstances (United Nations Human Rights Comitee says this) and in order to reduce their population density they bring people who lives out of the area to there. Actually I know much more things but I have no evidence so I don't write them down. Wink

i understand but you don't need evidences or what to tell how the situtiaon is somewhere...we have no images of Tibet(for ex) but we have sometimes/rarely echoes and IT MATTERS...!
when Human Rights are not respected we often have no real evidences but people who report....there are places in the world   where WE DO KNOW bad things happen ...we don't really need proofs...
