Sounds good....and Leonard Nimoy never was the guy to boast if it wasn't good.... Maybe I'll be positively surprised....

Since Paramount likes to have at least a couple Star Trek updates per month, they were sure happy to see J.J. Abrams out and about discussing the film.
Star Trek Talk The good people at ComingSoon have caught up with or cornered (as they say) J.J. Abrams at a 'Hollywood event' this week and were able to get the director to answer some questions.
CS: Are you ready to talk about the Jennifer Morrison character? There's been a lot of speculation and confusion as to exactly who she's playing.
Abrams: She is so great. I'll just say that she plays Kirk's mother. She's awesome. Great.
CS: Does the film feature many flashback sequences? We also know that Winona Ryder is playing Spock's mother.
Abrams: Yeah, most of the movie is not - I wouldn't call them flashbacks, but she's in a great sequence and is so good. I love her. http://www.canmag.com/nw/...jj-abrams-talks-star-trek

The Star Trek trailer has been seen and even though writing this article makes me feel like all I am doing is pandering I am going to go with it anyway because I know some of you will be interested and that's really the main reason I am doing this site isn't it? I know it's certainly the reason that keeps food in my mouth so I think that's pretty damned important. As it stands, Ain't It Cool News received early word on the upcoming trailer for J.J. Abrams' Star Trek, which is apparently playing on some loop over at the Paramount lot. The trailer, along with a new trailer for Watchmen, is expected to be in front of Quantum of Solace this weekend and one of the folks that saw it this weekend gave AICN some info based on what they saw. Here is a rundown paraphrased as nice and neat as I could do.
The trailer begins with a '60s style Corvette convertible tearing down the road with the police ("space-cop") in pursuit. The driver, a 13-year-old boy, leaps from the car right as it goes off a cliff. The policeman has no such issue as he comes to a stop on a hover bike and asks, "Who are you? What's Your Name?"
The boy replies, "James Tiberius Kirk!" and the trailer jumps forward in time as an older Kirk (Chris Pine) is seen also riding a hover bike while voice over plays saying, "You never found yourself here, you never really fit in." The shot continues, "What you choose to do with you’re life is up to you."
Kirk is staring at a huge futuristic structure (assumed to possibly be Starfleet headquarters) and the voice over begins again, "Maybe you were meant for something different. Something - bigger."
Next is a shot of what is assumed to be Spock's mother (Winona Ryder) holding a baby Vulcan saying, "You will always be a part of two worlds."
It is at this point it seems the trailer goes hog wild on action, effects and a variety of other shots. Here is how one of the descriptions read:
We then see a bunch a quick shots of the crew walking around the bridge of some starship and we see a 20-something Spock angrily pointing at a 20-something Kirk and saying, "I will not be lectured by you!" and an angry Kirk getting in Spocks face saying, "Why don't you do something about it!?!" We then see an enraged Spock trying to stab Kirk with something pointed I couldn't quite make out. It was a quick shot and Kirk is shown using both hands to fend off Spock and hold the object away from his face. And then, in rapid fire succession: "space ships firing," "people being thrown," "crew members running," "a woman in silhouette (Uhura?) pulling off her top," "battle shots," "phaser fire," and "engine nacels explode." Yeah, quite hectic, and to be honest with you the second description reads like someone at Paramount wrote it, but oh well. http://www.ropeofsilicon....-star-trek-trailer-unseen
